This workshop revolves around many themes:
Theme 1: The cinematic idea, the sources of writing, and the transformation of the idea into a story for film adaptation.
Theme 2: Character, drama's heroic figure, characters associated with secondary personalities, elements and aspects of personality, and the personality traits of the tragic hero and how they differ from the character of the comic hero.
Theme 3: Cinematic themes and dramatic construction, the climax and the end.
Theme 4: How to turn a novel into a film. How to adapt a cinematic work for television and the difference between play writing, television writing and cinematic writing.
Nasser Abdel-Rahman is an Egyptian scriptwriter, graduated in the Higher Institute of Cinema in Cairo. He wrote a number of critically acclaimed films and TV series, including AL-MADINA that won awards at Locarno Festival, AQUARIUM which was screened at the Berlin and Oran festivals. CHAOS, THIS IS, the last film by the late Youssef Chahine. He collaborated with director Khaled Youssef in several films including SHEHATA'S SHOP and QAMAR'S PALM. He participated in the writing of the collective film 18 DAYS which was shown at Cannes International Film Festival.
