Luxor African Film Festival  (LAFF)

7th edition

16 - 22 March 2018

National Competition for Student Films:

All submitted films should be directed by Egyptian filmmakers, the story should take place in Egypt, and the film should be a thesis school project created while in school 

All Egyptian filmmakers must reside in Egypt

Submitted films should be a 2017 production

The Selection Committee will decide the films that participates in LAFF National Student film competition

Participating films should not have been screened in Egypt before the festival

Student Films should not be less than 5 minutes or longer than 28 minutes

Calls for Participation starts Dec 20, 2017

Deadline to receive the application form, a DVD or Blu-Ray of the film along with promotional material (posters, flyers, film stills and synopsis, director's bio and photo) is January 20, 2018

LAFF is not obliged to return the received material if the film was not selected

Material will not be used in any profitable activities

LAFF management will announce the selected films by January 31, 2018

Participating filmmakers should ship or deliver the final screening copy DCP or Blu-Ray subtitled in English to LAFF prior to February 10, 2018

DCP or Blu-Ray should be sent to Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF) 33, Haroun St. Dokki, 12311, Cairo, Egypt

The winning films will be re-screened in Cairo at non-profit cultural centers after LAFF

All selected films will receive a certification for taking part at the LAFF
