David ‘Tosh’ Gitonga is a Nairobi based director. Born in Eastern Kenya in the town of Nanyuki in September 1981, Tosh began his education in Marketing but was drawn to the film industry. After graduating in 2003, Tosh, who had already made his first feature as a production assistant in Dangerous Affair (2002), continued to work on several other productions as an assistant director. Nairobi Half Life film was selected as the Kenyan entry to the Oscars for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 85th Academy Awards. It went on to win several local and international awards.
