This year, our choice to highlight Rwandan cinema because it is a youthful and promising one. Over the past seven years, we keep notes of the size and of the excellent entries in the short film competition as well as the long documentary and feature films.
In the last five years, we were amazed with the amount of entries from the Haile Gerima workshop by filmmakers from Rwanda. They were the best and most ambitious. The festival participated in the production of several in Rwanda including Joel Karekezi’s film.
Having mentioned that, we welcome the very promising Rwandan cinema in the seventh edition of the Luxor African Film Festival.
The festival will feature five films from Rwanda this year.
