An accomplished actress in theater, television, and cinema. She worked with several great African and international filmmakers starting with Henri Duparc in Dancing in the Dust. Sy Savané received two awards for best actress in 1994 from both the Vues d'Afrique Festival in Montreal and the Kouriba Festival in Morocco for her performance in Roger Gnoan M'Bala's The Name of Christ. She also played the lead role in Fanta Regina Nacro’s The Night of the Truth in which she played a mother suffering from the loss of her child. She founded Afriki Djigui Theatri, a structure that promotes African culture through theater, dance, storytelling, music, and visual arts. Along with her acting career, Naky is an activist campaigning for education and women rights in Côte d' Ivoire.
