Former Dean of High Institute of Cinema

Ghada Gobbara graduated from the High Institute of Cinema after studying editing in 1990, and then headed department of Editing in the institute, till she the Secretary-General of the institute. Later she became the acting dean of the High Institute of Cinema. She is a lecturer in film editing, and chose biography films to be the subject of her Ph.D. thesis. She achieved a lot as the dean of the High Institute of Cinema as she founded the Abu Al-Houl Film Festival which screens the works of film students around the world, whose first edition was a success despite limited funds, and which also managed to screen works of students from several local and international film festivals, alike Cairo, Cannes, Dubai, Venice, and others. Gobbara is currently a General Assembly member of the Cinema Syndicate.
