Holding a PhD in cinematic and narrative aesthetics, he is a film professor at Hassan II University in Casablanca and a visiting professor in several Moroccan, Arab and international universities. Among the positions he held: founder and director of Rabat International Film Festival for author’s cinema, director of the International Forum of Cinema and Novel in Casablanca, director of the International Forum of Cinema and Human Rights. A member of the Moroccan Organization for Human Rights, a founding member of the Moroccan Association of Film Critics, a member of the Writers Union of Morocco, an editor of the Film Studies Publication and head of the film profession club, president of the Moroccan Center for Image Education. Gueroum was jury member at several festivals on the national and international scenes. His published works include: Adaptation from Cinema, Wings of Desire and several film essays.
